Imagine trekking in the Himalayas with inspiring ladies, sharing each other's stories, and uplifting each other to achieve the shared goal.In the process, you will enjoy beautiful nature and conquer the challenges of the Himalayan trails. The feeling of safety, comfort, and companionship is the biggest highlight of women-only treks. It is a great way to make female friends from around the globe. Likewise, if you have ever been troubled with female friendships and want to give it another try, trekking with a bunch of women is a great opportunity.Besides friendships, the underlying support system, and safety, trekking to the Annapurna Base Camp is also a huge achievement in itself.
A safe space for female adventurers
We cannot deny the fact that many women hesitate to trek solo and in a mixed group. Women only treks open a big opportunity for female adventurers to go beyond their limits and explore the Himalayas without getting concerned about their safety.Regardless of all the safety assurances of travel companies, we can understand the hesitation you may feel when trekking with men. Therefore, we make sure to organize a handful of female-only treks every year in Nepal.
Empowerment through shared experiences
Trekking to the Annapurna Base Camp is a big deal, and we want every female to feel it. Women only treks allow you to see other women conquering the same difficulty and provide you with motivation and confidence to face the challenge. Not only that, you will also see how females from different backgrounds and ages are pushing their boundaries. It will encourage you not to give up and be better for yourself.
Breaking stereotypes in adventure sports
We love seeing women breaking stereotypes in adventure sports, and we actively encourage them to aim for the biggest challenges. Historically, adventure sports have always been dominated by males, especially in the Himalayas. However, the dynamics are gradually shifting, and we are very happy about that. We are now seeing many women in the Himalayas mapping rugged terrains, remotest corners, and summiting the highest mountains. We want many females to experience the power of trekking, and a women-only trek like this one is a great place to start your journey!
Support local women
During our women-only ABC trek, we try our best to involve women in as many aspects of the trip as possible. We choose accommodations and services provided by women. Likewise, we also try our best to hire a female guide for the journey.
Tailored for women's needs
Unlike the usual treks, our women-only Annapurna Base Camp trek is tailored to accommodate women's physiology, health, and hygiene. We have strategically planned our Annapurna Base Camp trek itinerary and services for a high success and satisfaction rate.

Safety & Health Tips for Women Trekkers
Please follow the tips below during the Annapurna Base Camp trek to ensure your safety and health:
Acclimatization and altitude sickness signs:
Altitude sickness is inevitable during a high-altitude trek like ABC. However, it is also avoidable and manageable if you follow our acclimatization plan. Our acclimatization plan for this trek includes ascending slowly and spending a night at Machhapuchhre Base Camp before hiking to Annapurna Base Camp. From the starting point of the trek, you will reach ABC in five days of walking, gaining little altitude every day.As you go above 2,500 meters, you will start to feel the effects of the high altitude. Difficulty in breathing, headache, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, insomnia, and loss of appetite are some early signs. If you see any of these symptoms, it is important that you receive first aid from your guide and rest before continuing further.
Female hygiene products:
Kindly understand that daily showers during the high-altitude treks are a bit tricky. Water is always very cold in the mountains, and hot water costs extra money. It may also not be available everywhere. Therefore, we recommend that our beautiful ladies pack wet wipes to keep themselves refreshed. Likewise, pack an extra pair of undergarments and change daily.Washing clothes is also not viable during the trek, so carry a ziplock bag to store used ones. Similarly, pack deodorants, toilet paper, soap, hand sanitizer, and all other toiletries for the journey.
Veg food is ideal:
One of our top recommendations for any trekker is to avoid meat during trekking, especially in remote high parts of the mountains. Frozen meats are common in the mountains, and sometimes they may give you indigestion or stomach problems. And we do not want to get sick while trekking. Therefore, veg food is the best option. Trekkers who chose non-veg, please ask your guide to assess the meat condition with the lodge owner.
Avoid standing on the edge of the hills while passing by donkeys:
Donkeys are the main mode of transportation in the Annapurna region. Locals transport their goods via donkey, so you may share the trails with them. While passing by a donkey, avoid standing on the edge. You should always wait on the cliffside and let them pass before continuing walking. Do not bother them.
Nalgene water bottle and water bladder:
Nalgene water bottles are great at maintaining water temperature. It keeps water hot for many hours, so we highly recommended it for the trek.A water bladder makes drinking water easy while hiking. You will not be bothered by pulling your water bottle in and out whenever you want to drink water.
SPF and moisturizer:
The temperature at high altitude is cold, and so is the exposure to the sun. The higher you ascend, the more intense the sun's rays will be. So, you will need high-quality SPF cream to protect your skin from sunburn.Likewise, the dry climate demands constant moistening. Please carry a heavy moisturizer that works for both your face and other body parts. UV sunglasses are also required.
*Note: You can purchase everything in Kathmandu and Pokhara.
The Annapurna Base Camp trek is not as advanced or challenging as the Annapurna Circuit or Manaslu Circuit treks. However, it demands decent fitness and 6 hours of walking on average every day. Therefore, female trekkers must be in good shape and health to complete this trek.If you have made up your mind to join our women only Annapurna Base Camp trek, start preparing early.
