The Tsum Valley Trek spans 16 days and costs approximately $1400, including permits, guide fees, and basic accommodations.
This is your arrival day in Kathmandu. We have not planned anything on this day. Our team will welcome you at the Kathmandu airport and drop you off at the hotel. Spend the rest of the day relaxing and exploring your surroundings. Evening will host a welcome dinner.
After breakfast, meet your tour guide in the hotel lobby. He will brief you on the places you will be visiting with him. Start with the Monkey Temple, which is situated on the hilltop. From here, you will drive to Pashupatinath Temple and Bouddhanath Stupa. Explore these monuments and drive to Patan Durbar Square or Kathmandu Durbar Square.
The tour ends by mid-afternoon. You will have a couple of hours to rest and meet our trekking team later. Your mountain guide will introduce himself and brief you on the trek program. You are then free to purchase trekking essentials and pack a duffel bag.
There are two routes from Chhokang Paro to Nile. We will follow the alternative trail and ascend via Ranchen Gompa (3,240 m). The trail goes past Phurbe and Chhule before reaching Nile. The mountain views along the trail are phenomenal.
We have a rest day in Nile. In the morning, hike to Mu Gompa. This is the highest point you will walk to in Tsum Valley. Mu Gompa is an ancient monastery. Surrounded by hills, mountains, and glaciers, the monastery sits in the silence of the Himalayas. After the hike, return to Nile to spend the night.
*You can also extend the hike to Pika Himal Base Camp and visit Dephyu Dolma Nunnery Gompa, a 600-year-old Gompa.
If you did not descend to Nile the other night, follow the same trail back and descend. From here, you will keep descending and pass by Phurbe. Upon reaching Burgi, follow an uphill route that takes you to Milarepa Cave. The view of Poshyop Glacier and Mount Churke is breathtaking from here.
Burgi village to Chumling, you will retrace the same path and descend. As the trail descends, you can see greenery. Pass by Chhokang Paro and keep descending to Gho. From here, you will arrive at Chumling.
The trail descends through lush forests and terraced fields. You will cross many suspension bridges on the way and pass by small settlements. During trekking, you will come across beautiful Samba Falls and see superb views of Shringi Himal.
From Philim, you will trek through lush rhododendrons and pine forests. The trail gradually descends through small villages to Khorla Bensi. On the way, you will enjoy nature, wonderful scenery, and mountains.
Today is the last day of trekking. From Kholra Bensi, you will trek back to Machha Khola. The trail is the same as before. Walk through lush forests and small villages.
After a delicious breakfast, leave Machha Khola and follow a scenic highway to Kathmandu. The guide will drop you at your hotel. The rest of the evening is free to explore and window shop in Thamel.
It is time to say goodbye. You will fly back to your home on this day. Our representatives will escort you to the international airport on time.

Tsum Valley is situated in the Manaslu region. It is a restricted area for foreigners, so to travel here, they have to join an organized trek with a local Nepali trekking company. There is no roadway, so trekking is the only way to go to Tsum Valley.
The Tsum Valley trek does not gain much altitude; however, the region is very remote, and the terrain is off the beaten path. Likewise, the facilities for trekkers are not that great, and very few travelers visit here. Even if you have not trekked before, good fitness is required for the Tsum Valley trek.
No, there is no age limit for Tsum Valley trekking. However, underage trekkers must be accompanied by their parents or a guardian. The Tsum Valley trek route is very isolated and lacks services, so we highly suggest ensuring that underage trekkers can deal with the remoteness of the region.
Western-style toilets are available in newly built teahouses, but you have to use squat toilets in many places. Make sure to carry toilet paper, soap, and all other toiletries for the journey. Likewise, you can pay a few bucks to get a hot water bucket for a shower. Daily showers will cost you a lot of money, so make sure you have enough cash and definitely pack wet wipes.
Yes, you can store extra clothing and luggage that you will not need during trekking in your hotel's locker room or at our office for free.
Yes, you have to buy travel insurance for Tsum Valley trekking. It must cover medical bills and helicopter evacuation. It is a mandatory document for non-Nepali trekkers.
