Kathmandu - Chisapani - Nagarkot - Kathmandu
Chisapani Nagarkot Trekking is one of the most popular short trekking adventures near Kathmandu, Nepal, offering an excellent combination of Himalayan scenery, natural beauty, cultural exploration, and peaceful countryside experiences. Organized by Odea Services, this trek is specially designed for travelers who want to experience the beauty of Nepal’s mountains without committing to a long and challenging high-altitude expedition. The trail takes you through the beautiful landscapes of Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park, traditional Tamang and Newari villages, lush forests, terraced farmlands, and scenic hill ridges.
The journey begins with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Sundarijal, followed by a rewarding hike toward Chisapani, a charming hilltop village famous for its spectacular sunrise and sunset views. From Chisapani, the trail continues toward Nagarkot, one of Nepal’s most famous viewpoints, where travelers can enjoy breathtaking panoramas of the Langtang Himalayan range, Ganesh Himal, Dorje Lakpa, Gaurishankar, and on exceptionally clear days, distant views of Mount Everest.
This short trek also provides an opportunity to explore Nepal’s rich cultural heritage. The final day includes visits to UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as Changunarayan Temple, Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Boudhanath Stupa, Pashupatinath Temple, and Patan Durbar Square. With comfortable accommodations, experienced guides, and carefully planned itineraries, Odea Services ensures a memorable and authentic Himalayan experience.
Chisapani Nagarkot Trekking can be enjoyed throughout the year, but the best seasons are spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November). During these periods, the weather is generally stable, the skies remain clear, and the mountain views are at their best. The pleasant temperatures make trekking comfortable, while the blooming rhododendron forests during spring add vibrant colors to the landscapes.
Autumn is considered the ideal trekking season in Nepal because of excellent visibility and dry weather conditions. From September to November, trekkers can enjoy crystal-clear views of the Himalayan peaks, beautiful countryside scenery, and comfortable walking conditions. The mornings and evenings in Chisapani and Nagarkot are especially rewarding, with magnificent sunrise and sunset views over the snow-covered mountains.
Winter (December to February) is also a good time for this trek, especially for travelers who prefer quieter trails and fewer crowds. Although temperatures can be cold, especially in the early mornings and evenings, the clear winter skies often provide some of the best mountain views. Summer and monsoon months (June to August) bring greenery and fresh landscapes, but rain may make some trails slippery and reduce mountain visibility.
