Celebrate joy, renewal, and the arrival of spring! Fagu Purnima, or Holi, is a vibrant Hindu festival observed on the full moon day of the month of Falgun (mid-February to mid-March). It marks the transition to warmer days and is celebrated with enthusiasm across Nepal, especially in the southern Terai region.

The festivities begin in Basantapur Durbar Square with the ceremonial raising of the Chir pole in front of Kumari House. This marks the official start of Holi.
