His Majesty KingMaha Vajiralongkorn and Her Majesty Queen Suthida of Thailand arrived in Bhutan for a special four-day State Visit, invited by His Majesty The King of Bhutan.The whole country gave them a warm and colorful welcome — schoolchildren lined the streets waving flags and offering flowers, and there were beautiful cultural performances along the way from Paro.
At Tashichhodzong, Their Majesties were formally received with a Guard of Honour and had an Audience with Their Majesties The Druk Gyalpo and Gyaltsuen. Later, a big welcome ceremony at Tendrelthang brought together the Royal Family, dignitaries, and many Bhutanese and Thai nationals, featuring traditional dances from both countries.
The King of Thailand and the King of Bhutan actually share some beautiful similarities!
Both His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn of Thailand and His Majesty King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck of Bhutan are deeply respected by their people and are seen as symbols of unity and tradition. They each come from ancient monarchies that are central to their nation's identity. Both Kings are also known for their strong connection with the public, emphasis on national development, and commitment to preserving their countries’ unique cultures. They share a vision of modernization while protecting traditions, and both countries deeply honor Buddhist values.
Their warm friendship reflects how similar Bhutan and Thailand are in cherishing harmony, loyalty, and respect for their Monarchs.
