The Mardi Himal Trekking is a recently opened trekking routes in Annapurna Mountain range. Situated just east of one of the most popular treks of Nepal, Poonhill and the Annapurna Base Camp trek, the Mardi Himal trek is a hidden beauty. As it is hardly known, just a few trekkers made their way before to the Mardi Himal Base Camp, which is spectacularly situated at the base of Mardi Himal and the impressive Machhapuchhre. The trail goes eventually to the high base camp, but starts ease off along small paths through magical rhododendron forests, until you climb out of the forest around 3,300 meters. The landscape then changes quite abruptly into a rough high mountain landscape, with amazing views of Mardi Himal, Machhapuchhre, Annapurna South and Hiunchuli. From High Camp (3.900 meters), we trek in one day to Mardi Himal Basecamp at 4.500 meters, which offers spectacular close up views of the entire Annapurna Range. The return trip is partly different since we will descend to the Mardi Khola river and by that way to Lwang.

After a scenic transfer to Pokhara, the beautiful lake city of Nepal, the trek starts through charming villages, lush forests, and peaceful mountain trails. The route passes through Deurali, Forest Camp, Low Camp, and High Camp before reaching the spectacular Mardi Himal Base Camp at an altitude of 4,500 meters.
Mardi Himal Base Camp is located beneath the impressive Mardi Himal and the famous Machhapuchhre (Fishtail Mountain). The trail gradually climbs through magical rhododendron forests before opening into alpine landscapes with panoramic views of the Annapurna mountain range. From High Camp, trekkers can enjoy unforgettable sunrise and sunset views over the Himalayas, including Annapurna South, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre, and Hiunchuli. The best seasons for the Mardi Himal Trek are spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November). During these periods, the weather is stable, skies are clear, and mountain views are at their best.
Spring offers beautiful blooming rhododendron forests, pleasant temperatures, and colorful landscapes. Autumn provides excellent visibility, comfortable trekking conditions, and crystal-clear views of the Annapurna mountain range.

Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will be greeted with flower garlands at the airport and then transported to your hotel.
After breakfast, we will be heading to Pokhara, which is a 7-hour drive away. We will stop for lunch on the way. After lunch, we expect to arrive around 2 pm in the picturesque valley of Pokhara. Pokhara is a place of remarkable natural beauty. After a brief rest, we will be near the lake.
After having breakfast, we will drive to Kande from Pokhara, which takes about 40 minutes. The trail involves a 1.5-hour climb to reach the ridge at 2,060 m. Once we reach the ridge, we'll come across a quaint lodge settlement known as the 'Australian Camp', which offers a stunning panoramic view of the Annapurna range and Pokhara valley. The trail then leads through a scenic rhododendron forest to a mountain pass called 'Deurali'. From Deurali, we can enjoy breathtaking views of the Modi Khola valley, nestled between Annapurna South and Mardi Himal/Mt. Fishtail. (B/L/D)
The trail gradually climbs through the rhododendron forest following the ridge. The lower camp has a couple of teahouses in the forest clearing. From there, you can enjoy a closer view of Mt. Fishtail and Mardi Himal. You'll also find yourself closer to a clear blue sky with a view of layers of Himalayan foothills and a sweeping valley towards the south. (B/L/D)
After breakfast, we will begin our trek from Low Camp to High Camp (3,900m), where you can enjoy views of snow-capped mountains such as South Annapurna, Himchuli, and Machhapuchhre, also known as Fishtail. We will hike uphill along the Nangge Danda to High Camp at an altitude of 3,900 meters, where we will stay overnight. (B/L/D)
The day trip will be more challenging than other days, involving a steep climb and longer walk. The trail becomes more steep and dizzying at some points, with uneven and steep rocky steps. The initial steep climb will take about 2 hours to reach the ridge top, marked as MBC (Mardi Himal Base Camp). However, it will take about another 2 hours along the ridge to reach the actual base camp. The view along the ridge is amazing. Mardi Himal and Mt Fishtail will appear right above us, while the view of Annapurna I, Gangapurna, and Annapurna III will also be visible in the distance. (B/L/D)

Having breakfast, then heading to Lwang Village which is a 4.5-hour walk away. Lwang is a self-sufficient Gurung village with a rich culture and happy people. This village is the best place to experience the Nepalese countryside lifestyle and enjoy organic food. (B/L/D)
